Good Friday
Gathering at the Foot of the Cross
Christians have been gathering on Good Friday, since the very beginnings of our faith.
Even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Matthew 20:28)
We too are invited to come to the cross on that special day, where we draw our imperfect lives before Christ. This is a service where we make a special repentance, both said and symbolised by the chance for you to kneel before the cross, laid as it is in the chancel of the church, and nail a red ribbon. The cross is the elevated before us, covered in ribbon as it might have been as Christ's blood, before we follow the cross as a witness to Haslemere High Street.
“Here is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29)
