OUR RACIAL JUSTICE COVENANT

Our Aim 

That the Parish of Haslemere and its leadership challenges itself on a regular basis to ensure that it reflects the racial and ethnic diversity of its community.  

Our Principles 

Sustained, racial and ethnic equality requires commitment, a willingness to challenge ourselves and a commitment to restorative change if appropriate. 

DIVERSITY: We commit to encourage, build up and celebrate the racial and ethnic diversity of the Body of Christ in Haslemere. 

DISCIPLES: We commit to be disciples of Jesus Christ (as individuals, as a church and as part of society) 

REPRESENTATION: We commit to encouraging all the people in our congregations including those  of UK Minority Ethnic /Global Majority Heritage (UKME/GMH) backgrounds to play a full part in Parish life including its leadership and in its formal structures.

ACCOUNTABILITY: We commit to accountability and transparency in our parish structure and processes, which will be evidenced by regular reports to the PCC and APCM and to encourage diversity and inclusion of all kinds.
