Children and Families

As parents we are working to see our children growing in the community, at school and with their friends.

Here in the Parish of Haslemere we offer a community where the Christian faith reaches out to families of all ages.  We seek to offer families the goodness of our faith in an inclusive and gentle way.  There may be lots of reasons that you find yourself looking at the churches in Haslemere; you could have recently moved to the town or are about to.  Perhaps you would like to find out about a family Christening or it’s time to look at schools and how they are supported by the church.

We want families to feel supported in our community, share kindness and build friendships. Together we grow your faithfulness and nurture your relationship with God. Come and join us!

“I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me.” (Matt. 18:3-5)

From new-borns all the way through to secondary school years, we at St Bartholomew’s and St Christopher’s churches would love to meet you.” Chris, Victoria, Verity and Liz.

Currently, we are able to offer the following activities and services for children and families:

First Steps Playgroup

On Monday mornings during term time, St Christopher's runs the First Steps Playgroup for parents, grandparents and carers to bring bump to pre-school children for fun craft, singing and themed play sessions.  This is a wonderful group, which offers a fun and relaxed environment for local families to get together.

Families@4

Each first and third Sunday in the month, at 4:00pm in the afternoon, we open up The Link at St Bartholomew's Church to our children and parents.  We gather for a great time of play and activity, family worship, and a lovely children's tea-party style buffet. Families@4

The Den

The Den is a new Church Youth Club for 8–12-year-olds every Wednesday at 17:30pm during term time.  It is all about having fun, while making friends, playing games, faith exploration, spiritual connection, craft challenges, exciting outings and adventures, and making a difference in the local community and environment through our youth led projects.

The Parish Junior Choir

We have a large and successful junior choir section for children from school year 3 upwards.  We sing at services and events, with rehearsal on Tuesday evenings.  All children are welcome and there are no auditions.

We also pay pocket money!  Find out more here.
