The PCC are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive person who will bring new ideas to develop the families ministry of the parish and work with the church leadership to establish and implement a series of strategic aims for a healthy children and families ministry to older children.  Children and Families work is a central part of our commitment to the whole community of Haslemere.  We wish to engage practically and spiritually with all children and youth, working in conjunction with other Christian denominations in the town.  We understand ourselves to be seeking to grow God’s Kingdom in the hearts and minds of all people, so that they may establish and deepen their faith, and serving each other with goodness and love.

Older children are considered to be from around 8-11 years, broadly towards School Key Stage 2.  The parish has an excellent relationship with St Bartholomew’s church school.  The successful applicant will work directly with our Children and Families Worker for Younger Children and the Rector of Haslemere to establish a new approach to older children’s work.  This is a new role in which the employee will have considerable opportunity to work independently and flexibly to meet the vision of the church for children.  Applicants will be enthusiastic to see the Christian faith flourish in families, and to help children grow well with the virtues and wellbeing of God’s children.
